Coventry to re-open its hidden city centre river

Works are set to begin on a long-awaited regeneration project in Coventry. Plans will see the River Sherbourne on Palmer Lane transformed into a ‘thriving part of city life.’ Councillors say the River Sherbourne will be opened up to the public, with cafés and restaurants also opening on Palmer Lane. Contractors will be on site in the coming months with the project set to be completed by December. Coventry City Council and the Historic Coventry Trust are funding the project, which will be costing in the region of £2.4m. It forms part of plans to revamp The Burges and Hales Street.
