Services

Research, Mapping, Visioning, Workshops, Presentations, Engagement in the context of global challenges & client aspirations.

The West Midlands National Park Lab is an international think-tank with a unique perspective on the landscape.

We inspire and challenge clients to reimagine landscapes at scale in order to support policies and practices that put quality of life and quality of the environment at the top of the agenda.

We work with partners and collaborators to explore the art of the possible, unlocking the potential of the landscape in the context of economic, social and environmental drivers.

The WMNP Lab has delivered advice, design review for large infrastructure projects including plans for the Colmore Row Business Improvement District (2021), the HS2 design review panel (since 2015) and is based on projects including Thurrock Borough Council Regional Plan (2013-2017), the Black Country Urban Park (2004-5) and the Tame Valley Landscape Vision (2016). Our approach, endorsed by the UN in April 2022, was presented by the Habitat Professional Forum at the World Urban Form in Poland in June 2022.
