Study With Us

Our BA and MA courses at BCU cover all aspects of landscape architecture and are fully recognised and accredited by the Landscape Institute. Supported by a team of industry experts, you will work in a design studio culture on a range of live projects and placements.

Our BA(hons) course can be combined with a year in industry. The MA, which can be taken with a year’s conversion course for those from other disciplines, is a professionally orientated course with an increased emphasis on research and experimentation.

Design themes include landscape health and wellbeing, habitat creation and biodiversity, climate change, settlement design and food security, and large-scale infrastructure projects including the West Midlands National Park.

Recent research topics have included: Regional design and climate change; Landscape policy; The digital/analogue interface in landscape design; Landscape and reconciliation; Site interpretation; Landscape visioning; The role of drawing to persuade leaders in regional landscape strategies.
