About Us

Who we are

Prof Kathryn Moore leads KMA with Dr Anastasia Nikologianni and Dr Alex Albans. Beyond our core team, we have an extensive network of consultants who join us on a project-by-project basis according to the needs of the client. These include experts in policy, governance, finance, land-use strategy, graphic design and illustration, GIS, community engagement and more. We do not use generative AI at KMA, instead believing that humanity is best served by context-sensitive and careful human skill, insight and judgement.

Kathryn Moore

Director

Emerita Professor of Landscape Architecture and Director of the WMNP Lab and KMA, Kathryn is a past president of the International Federation of Landscape Architects and the UK Landscape Institute. Kathryn has published extensively on design quality, theory and education and consults on landscape strategy internationally.

Anastasia Nikologianni

Associate

Anastasia holds an EIT Climate-KIC PhD in landscape architecture and climate emergency and an MSc in Horticulture / agriculture. Anastasia’s research and teaching focuses on climate crisis and environmentally led strategic design. She is Chair of the Emerging Professionals Advocate group of IFLA World.

Alex Albans

Associate

Alex’s work focuses on the relationship between people and place, and how this impacts how we treat the landscape. With a PhD and PGDiploma in landscape architecture, an MA in regional history and a BSc in geography, Alex brings a broad perspective from his varied career including conflict transformation and biodiversity.
